Today I decided it was time to try out our new places kiddie pool that they have. It was perfect! The whole thing is only a foot deep and the kids had so much fun! So glad we went!

Last week Kevin and I decided that we needed to go to Disneyland! (we have passes and hadn't gone in a while) It was so much fun, the kids loved it and this was actually the first time I didn't take one picture! :0( But then on our way home my brother had called me so I called him back and we ended up going to Disneyland again the next day! I know crazy huh! But it was so much fun and we watched Fantasmic and I loved it! The only bad thing was that I lost my camera and my phone... but with my luck my phone was still on the ride and my camera was turned into lost and found! Thank God the world is still a good place, at least at Disneyland! Here's a few pics that I caught before I lost the camera...

So I was going to catch up on posts, but there is just too much that has gone by, and it'll take me way too much time to get all the photos together, so I'll just say what we've been up to recently. Kevin finally got a job with CARE Ambulance company in Orange County, which we are so excited for! He really likes his job and the hours he has been working actually have been working out good for us. (He's been working from 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM. ) And our biggest news is that we just moved into our own place. Still stuck out in Rancho Cucamonga, but I've come to terms that we will probably be here forever so I'm dealing. But our new place is pretty cool, I actually used to live in the complex where we are with my friend Becky after cosmetology, it's really nice to have our own place and our own things again! I've been able to cook a lot which I love and hopefully start sewing again this week! yay!!! The absolutely awsome thing about our apartment complex is that we have 2 parks in here with us! The kids want to go like everyday, I try to go as much as possible but mostly Colby's therapists take him and Kaylee... so glad we have it near by!

A Night at Disneyland

This past Thursday Kevin and I decided to take the kids to Disneyland after Colby's therapy session was over. It was a ton of fun since we hadn't been in over a month! The kids really liked all the Christmas decorations. I think Colby's favorite ride was Small World, he sang the song almost the whole ride! It was so cute. We were going to make that our last ride of the night (since Colby had school the next day) but then Colby said, "Mommy we need to go on the Alice ride!" So I told him that would be our last ride. But right after we got off the Alice ride he said he wanted to go on the Pin-cho-cio ride... but he had peed his pants so that was not happening. All in all it was a ton of fun and I hope we get to go back before the holiday decor goes down.

I can't believe that Keira is already 3 months old! It feels like she was born yesterday! I am so glad that she is with us, she is just this little bundle of joy that completely brightens our days!! She is so adorable and so cute! Too cute sometimes!!! We love her to pieces!

In case you didn't know, Kevin is trying to be a Firefighter or a Paramedic, something in that area. My Aunt had contacted someone who she knew that worked at a station out here, so we took the kids to an open house they had. It was fun and quite interesting. We got to see them put out a fire and the station was beautiful! The kids enjoyed it.

Recently Kaylee has been obsessed with cooking. Anytime she sees you by the counter she pushes the chair over and wants to help you. I got my mom to let her help make some cookies a few weeks back, it was so cute! :0)

The Buchanan's Came to Visit

Last month my sister and her two kids came to visit my mom, which meant us too! We all had a ton of fun! Colby loved playing with Ian, I wish we lived closer to each other because they get a long so well, and Ian is a good example for Colby. While they were here we went to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo. I'm so glad to have gotten to spend time with them. Here a couple of pictures of our two trips!

Sorry, but I'm still trying to catch up on my bloggin'. So a few weekends ago Kevin and I started re-watching How I Met Your Mother, and the kids started getting all crazy screaming and so forth. So we decided to turn it off (it was on the computer) and deal with them. I actually got the privilege to calm them down while Kevin got on the internet. He decided to look up some stuff on twitter and saw if he posted his information he could win 2 tickets to the UFC fight which was in a couple of hours. He felt his phone buzz in his pocket and thought no way could this be the tickets... But, it was!!! My husband won two tickets, and not any old tickets... luxury sweet tickets at the Staples Center!!! Of course I have to be breast feeding, and couldn't go, so he took my brother Josh. I was super jealous! Oh yeah, and he got to hang out with a fighter too! UGGG!! :0)

This year I decided that we should try out a new pumpkin patch. I got an e-mail about the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch and it was awesome! There was so much for the kids to do, and half of it was free! (Which is always good in my book!) The kids had a ton of fun, it was really great!

My baby boy turned 4 years old! I can't believe it! He's getting sooo big. We took him to his favorite place on earth... the San Diego Zoo!!!! He just loves, loves animals and is extremely obsessed with them, which is sometimes good and sometimes a little extreme but we deal with it. Kevin's parents, Krista and Matt, Nana and Papa, Grandma, Aunt Becky, Jenny and the kids, and our friend Kelly and Braylin all came to join us. It was a fun day for Colby!

CATCH UP WITH KEIRA

So I have totally been slacking off with blogging, but I'm all caught up on my shows! I guess that is the sacrifice I have made... TV shows before blogging... I need to re-think that.

Anyways, I need to update about our new addition in the family. On September 2nd, I went into the hospital to get induced with Keira. It was a super hectic time, since Kevin was in his final days of his EMT course. Luckily I was in labor all night, and then finally delivered Keira around 12:00 p.m. just before Kevin had to get back to Long Beach for his last test! Keira was perfect at 8lbs. 8oz. and 21 3/4 in. long (my smallest baby). ((that day I had an ultrasound and the tech told me she was only 6lbs. what the heck did he know???)) I was able to spend 3 days total in the hospital which was new for me... and quite nice to spend time with just Keira. She has been a super good baby the past 2 months - already sleeping through the night, and is mostly happy! This probably means she is going to be a crazy toddler just like her sister! Oh well, toddlers sleep right?! Well, here's a few pictures of her when she was newer...

Yesterday was the last day of babysitting Emma! :0( I'm so sad, she was such a good baby and so fun to watch! It really helped me get a little prepared for having 3 kids.... although your own is always different. I also spent my last few day putting together a quilt for her. We will all miss our big girl Emma!

Lizard Face

On Friday at school Colby's class had a little hawaiian party for the kids that have summer birthdays. I guess they had a clown come and Colby got some face paint! He was so excited about the lizard on his face. Later that night when he had to wash it off he kept telling me that his lizard was gone, and that he was sad! :0( I felt kind of bad, but it was smudged all over the place anyways!

Just in case you don't know that we are having a girl hopefully at the beginning of September! And her name is going to be Keira Leanne Cheek! We are super excited, but hope this summer won't be too difficult for me to get through! We told Colby and Kaylee about the baby, and since I babysit they kind of get it, but I don't think they'll really understand till she gets here! I think Kaylee is going to turn into a daddy's girl once Keira comes... :0( I'll be so sad if she gets mad at me and doesn't want me anymore. Well, we will keep you updated, and maybe you'll get to see a photo of just my stomach soon. (everywhere else isn't all that pretty espcially my fat face!)

So I haven't blogged in like forever it feels like. I try to keep up on my facebook stuff, and that is easier because I can do it straight from my phone! But blogging is different, plus every time I try to change the background or something it turns out horrible and I have to call my sister to fix it! So, I guess me not blogging is because I get to frusterated! (what an excuse!)
But on a lighter note, as most of you probably know, I am pregnant with my third kid... and yes we are crazy! This was totally not planned, but it is exciting too! Although, I totally killed my chance to have my 4 kids, cause Kevin said he is definatly done with have three within like 4 years of eachother! But when they get older it will be nice! I am about 14 or 15 weeks and still as sick as ever! Well see if it is a girl, but Kevin wants a boy, so we will just have to wait and see!!

Today was Colby's 1st day of his preschool class through our school district. He Liked it... I guess! When asked if he had fun, he says "yes, I had fun". I then asked him what he did and if he had new friends, his reply was how Auntie Hollie was there and Jacob, I have no idea where he got this from, but I guess he remembers you Hollie! Well, at least he didn't pee his pants at school, but he did on the way home! Let me just say I hate potty training!

So, last night I was watching The Little Mermaid with Kaylee, and she just loves to sing along with the movie. I knew her favorite song was coming up, so I decided to grab the camera and video tape her... it's halarious, and you have to watch it!!!!

This past Sunday Kevin, I, the kids, Bryan, Karen, and Krista all went up to Lake Arrowhead to visit Kevin's Aunt who was renting a cabin for the week. We played in the snow with Kev's cousin Jennie and her son Issakk. It was a lot of fun! I'm really glad that we went up! Enjoy some snow pics!

This year Christmas was much more interesting and fun for Kevin and I! That was because the kids were totally into opening their presents. Colby was so into it that when we went to Kevin's parents house he wanted to open everyone's presents up before we even started! (It takes Kevin's family a while to get going in the morning...so we don't open presents up till later in the afternoon.) They got lots of new toys and clothes! Kaylee is really into Barbie and Ariel so she got a tun of that stuff which she now carries around everyone she got all day! Colby got a bunch of new figures that he is very good at playing with, although the characters are always being bad and having to sit in time out! (wonder where he could have got that from?!) So all in all Christmas was actually quite fun this year! Hope you all enjoy all the pics!

So, I know I haven't been so good at being caught up on here...i'm sorry! We have been so busy moving, and getting settled. Plus Colby's therepy has started and they just increased his hours to over 30 a week! Which is fantastic...but also takes more time away from being able to do things like blogging! Hopefully now that I have gotten most everything put away and things are starting to get back on a schedule I might have more time to put a picture up here and there!

Colby is doing really good! Especially to everyone else! He has been getting a little crazy for Kevin and I, but aren't kids supposed to do that to their parents? He has like 6 different therapists- all girls! And his birthday is coming up! Wahooo! Another thing to put on my list of things to do! HA HA!

Kaylee can be a little brat (almost as bad as Anabelle-her cousin)! But since we've moved I've started a time out dicipline system and believe or not, it works!! Today we started our first day of mommy and me gymnastics! It was so much fun! She really injoyed it!

Kevin just recently started his journey to be a FIREMAN! He is taking classes at Mt. SAC two times a week, and he's super excited to start this new journey!

I've just been working and taking care of the kids. Which can be quite a bit of work! We also have been visiting Disneyland a lot lately which is great with the kids. And our friends just moved back from Tennesee which made me happy because now I have an actual friend again! Yeah for me!

Walk For Autism!

On last Saturday our family along with some friends did a 5k walk for autism! We were able to raise as a team $3,174.00 in only like a week! Isn't that great! All our donations went to Autism Speaks Now to help fund for research about how to cure autism! I think overall they raised over 1.2 million dollars and are still collecting money! I was really glad that I was a part of this, even though it was tough to be there with my kids screaming and it being super hot! I just wanted to thank everyone for coming who came- and thank you for donating those who did that as well! Here's some pics of us, friends, and family that attended.

A few weeks ago it was extremely hot, like in the 90's! So, I went out and got the kids a little plastic pool and they loved it!! They spent like 4 hours playing in the water! Unfrortunatly, I forgot about sunscreen and Colby got BURNT bad!! Kaylee just got a sun tan thank heavens!

Disneyland Trip!

Well, at the beginning of the month we took the kids to Disneyland with some of my family. It was Colby's third time, but Kaylee's first! And out of all the kids I think Kaylee had the best time! Even better then her 3 year old cousin Ian. Then, a week later I took the kids to Disneyland all by myself! Brave I know! Luckily because of Colby's Autism we were able to get a special pass so we don't have to wait in line as long, and are away from people so we don't bother them. It was actually ok to take them by myself, and Colby likes it more and more everytime we go! I have to go about 3 more times to get my money's worth out of my season pass! And I will for sure hit that, I've aleady been 3 times and haven't even had it a month yet! It was the best present I've bought myself in a long time!

April: Autism Awareness Month

If you didn't already know, our son Colby was diagnosed with Autism January 2008. Most people's stories are about how they had to deal with this news and how heart wrenching it was. Our story is very different!! I started noticing Colby doing weird things at about 8 1/2 months, I would find him sitting in our dark closet banging his head on the wall. I would just tell him to stop and pick him up and give him a great big hug. I didn't think anything of it really and didn't tell anyone what he was doing because I just thought it was a kid thing. Then my sister Hollie brought more things to my attention when he was about one year old. I finally listened to what my family was telling me and decided to get Colby tested. After he was tested I soon realized how far behind and how different the things he was doing were. But I was told that he didn't have enough "red flags" to be further tested, and that he wasn't considered Autistic, "yet". As time went by it seemed that Colby's behaviors were getting worse, and I requested that he was tested again by the Regional Center. At the Regional Center we saw a new child physcologist, and she then told us that Colby showed a lot of the characteristics of Autism, but that he was too young to diagnose and that they would just say that he was "at risk of having Autism", and they would test him again when he was closer to three because he "might" change. I could not accept this in between diagnosis! I then knew I was going to have to fight for my son! So I drove my kids up to Sacramento to see a world renown neurologist that my sister found for me. This doctor spent the most time out of 5 doctors I had previously taken Colby to. He really looked at Colby watched him and told me that he was sorry that all the other people I had seen had been wrong, and that without a doubt my son was Autistic! Finally an answer of yes or no! Just not the answer we were hoping for, but it made me feel better that I wasn't crazy for thinking there was something off about my son! And now we can get more of the help we need!! Unfortunately we are still waiting for the therapy he needs!! But hopefully we can get Colby the best therapy so he can lead a normal life and be able to do everything he wants and dreams of. It has almost been a year since we've started this journey but if you know anything about Autism you know that it has seemed like an eternity! Luckily we absolutely adore and LOVE Colby so he's with us forever whether he likes it or not!!

Today we celebrated Kaylee's 1st Birthday. We can't believe she's one already, time sure does fly. She had a lot of fun. She wasn't too sure of the cake but eventually she got into it and had it all over. She got a lot of great presents and had fun while mommy opened them.

Now this is a funny story! For Colby's actual birthday we bought him some ice cream, since he can't have cake, and put a candle in it so he could blow it out! Kevin had been practicing blowing with Colby, so he really wanted Colby to blow his candle out himself. Kevin tried so hard, but Colby just wasn't blowing hard enough! All of a sudden Colby covered his eye with his hand. I thought he just had gotten too close and it was too hot for him, but later when I was going to give Colby a bath I noticed that part of his eye lashes had been burnt off!! I was dieing! And I was supposed to get the kids pictures taken within the next couple of days! Fortunatly, the pictures turned out fine.

This year for Halloween, we decided not to go out actually on Halloween night. Instead we went Trunk-or-Treating at my church. Colby had a good time, although a teenage boy dressed as a ganster ghost did scare the living daylights out of him! Everytime we passed by this boy Colby held on to us for dear life! Then, on Halloween day Colby's school did their own little trick-or-treat party! This was a lot of fun for the kids! In case you didn't notice, Colby was a monkey and Kaylee was a pig. Next year we will be going out, so that ought to be an interesting story!

Getting the kids to take a picture together was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. When Colby was little, he was so good at smiling and staying still for a posed picture! Now, it's a whole different story!! I was totally sweating up a storm once we were done!! I am now afriad of how our Christmas family pictures are going to be.
